Una, July 8: A one-day special training workshop was organised on Wednesday at the District Programme Officer's Office, Una, under the Special Registration Campaign being conducted for the effective and transparent implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY-2.0). The workshop was chaired by District Programme Officer Harish Kumar. The primary objective of the training was to equip Child Development Project Officers, Circle Supervisors and Anganwadi Workers with the latest digital system and technical procedures to ensure 100 per cent effective implementation of the scheme.
The District Programme Officer said that the purpose of the training was not only to provide technical knowledge but also to ensure that every eligible pregnant and lactating woman in the district receives the benefits of the scheme in a timely and hassle-free manner. He said that the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana is an important initiative of the Government of India aimed at strengthening maternal and child health, and Anganwadi workers play a crucial role in its successful implementation.
He informed that a Special Registration Campaign under PMMVY is being conducted across the country from June 15 to July 15. During this campaign, the registration and application process for eligible pregnant women is being carried out online by Anganwadi workers to ensure that no eligible woman is deprived of the benefits of the scheme.
During the workshop, technical experts from IPE Global provided detailed information to the participants about the scheme's new PMMVY Soft portal, paperless online registration process, Aadhaar authentication, Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system and various technical aspects related to the application process. Around 65 participants attended the training programme.
Technical experts Dr. Manisha Bhatia and Sumit Rana, serving as master trainers, gave a live demonstration on how to submit error-free applications using the new software. They also shared practical and quick solutions to field-level technical issues such as Aadhaar authentication errors, discrepancies in bank account details and other online challenges, helping to further strengthen the technical capabilities of the Anganwadi workers.
District Programme Officer Harish Kumar said that Anganwadi workers are the most important link in the successful implementation of the scheme. He said that by becoming proficient in the digital system, they can ensure that every eligible pregnant woman and breastfeeding mother receives the benefits of the scheme in a transparent, timely and uninterrupted manner. He urged all participants to effectively utilise the knowledge and skills gained during the training to ensure timely registration of all eligible beneficiaries.
He informed that during the financial year 2025-26, under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana in Una district, financial assistance amounting to ?1 crore 87 lakh 31 thousand has been transferred through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to 7,472 beneficiaries for their first childbirth. Additionally, ?68 lakh 34 thousand has been provided through DBT to 1,139 beneficiaries for the birth of a girl child during their second childbirth.
He further informed that under the scheme, an eligible woman receives ?5,000 in two instalments for the birth of her first living child, while a one-time assistance of ?6,000 is provided if a girl child is born during the second childbirth.
He said that such training programmes will further accelerate the effective implementation of the scheme and play a significant role in ensuring timely delivery of maternity benefits to every eligible woman in the district, thereby contributing towards the goal of "Healthy Motherhood – Empowered Families – Prosperous Society."
