Kurukshetra:- Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini today flagged off a special train from Kurukshetra railway station, which will take devotees from Haryana to Sri Hazur Sahib in Nanded. The Chief Minister also announced that a grand Somnath Yatra will be organised by the state from June 8.
Addressing the devotees at the railway station, the Chief Minister said that this train, which will depart from Kurukshetra, acts as a bridge connecting the two great pilgrimage sites. He called upon the devotees to imbibe the teachings of Guru Sahib in their lives and said that the real success of such journeys lies in practicing the values ??of service, sacrifice and virtue. Under the Chief Minister's Tirath Darshan Yojana, more than 800 devotees from nine districts of the state are going on this pilgrimage.
The Chief Minister said that earlier a special train was sent to Ayodhya. Another train will be sent from Sirsa to Sachkhand on May 15, and more such trains will be sent from Haryana to various religious places in the coming days.
The Chief Minister announced that a grand Somnath Yatra would be organised by the state from June 8, and added that the Somnath Temple stands as a symbol of India's eternal faith, rich cultural heritage and revival of national self-respect. Referring to the initiative of the Central Government, he said that a year-long national event is being celebrated till January 11 next year under "Somnath Swayaman Parv".
On this occasion, Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee President Jagdish Singh Jhinda expressed his gratitude to the government for taking initiatives for the pilgrimage. Talking to reporters, Chief Minister Naib Saini said, “After West Bengal, BJP will form its government in Punjab. The people of Punjab are appreciating the policies of the Prime Minister. AAP has failed to fulfill its promises and all sections of the society are not happy with the performance and functioning of the Punjab government.”
Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister said that women empowerment is essential for India’s development and realising the vision of ‘Developed India’. He was addressing a seminar and exhibition on the theme “Empowered Women, Empowered Society, Empowered Nation” at Kurukshetra University. Describing women as the basis of nation building, the Chief Minister said that the dream of a developed India cannot be fulfilled unless women are empowered.
The Chief Minister announced that the Artificial Intelligence Centre of Excellence at KU will be further strengthened, special coaching facilities will be set up in the university for girls and women preparing for civil services, judicial services and banking examinations, and a modern hostel will also be set up for research students and international students at Kurukshetra University.
The Chief Minister criticised the opposition parties for not supporting the Nari Shakti Vandan Act and said, “A special one-day session was called in Haryana but the opposition did not attend the session of the Vidhan Sabha. Women will teach a good lesson to the opposition parties.”
