Kharar (Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar), October 5, 2026:- As part of the special programmes being organised by the Punjab Government to commemorate the 650th Prakash Purb of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj, a special 30-minute documentary depicting the life, philosophy and teachings of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj was screened for village residents through LED screens in the villages of Bajheri, Basia and Batta of Kharar block.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Kharar, Shri Gurmeet Singh, said that through his Bani and thoughts, Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj gave society the message of equality, brotherhood, mutual harmony and service to humanity. His teachings continue to be a source of inspiration for society even today and show us the way to rise above casteism, discrimination and social inequalities and move forward together.
He said that this special documentary dedicated to the 650th Prakash Purb of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj is being screened through LED screens in villages so that more and more people can become familiar with the life and philosophy of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji. He said that connecting the new generation with the teachings of the great Guru Sahibs and saints and spiritual personalities is the need of the hour.
A large number of village residents were present at Bajheri, Basia and Batta to watch the documentary. The 30-minute documentary film screened on the LED screen effectively presented the life and teachings of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj and his message of humanity, social harmony and equality to society.
Shri Gurmeet Singh said that such initiatives not only help connect people with the philosophy of the great Guru Sahibs but also convey the message of further strengthening mutual love, harmony and brotherhood in society. He appealed to the village residents to adopt the teachings of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj in their lives and contribute towards strengthening brotherhood in society.
