Special campaign continues in Sunam to remove stray cattle from roads over 115 cattle moved to gaushalas in 10 days

Sunam, July 8:- Vice Chairman of the Punjab Gau Sewa Commission, Mr. Keemti Bhagat, stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government and the Punjab Gau Sewa Commission are working with determination to rid the state of the problem of stray cattle. In line with this, a special campaign has been running in Sunam for the past 10 days, under which over 115 stray and helpless cattle have been safely transported to the Government Gaushala in Jhaneri.
Mr. Keemti Bhagat mentioned that this campaign is being successfully conducted under the guidance of Cabinet Minister Aman Arora and with the cooperation of Sunam Municipal Council President Manpreet Bansal. He stated that stray cattle increase the risk of road accidents, disrupt traffic, and cause various difficulties for the common people. Therefore, the Punjab Gau Sewa Commission, the administration, and local bodies are working in coordination for a permanent solution to this issue.
He informed that under this campaign, an average of 08-10 stray cattle are being removed from the roads and moved to gaushalas daily. He expressed confidence that Sunam will soon be free from stray cattle, after which this campaign will be accelerated in Sangrur, Dhuri, and other cities as well.
He asserted that no stray cattle will be allowed to remain on any road in the state, and this campaign will continue until every stray animal is safely sheltered in a gaushala.
On this occasion, Sunam Municipal Council President Manpreet Bansal said that after taking charge, his top priority is to make the city clean, safe, and ensure smooth traffic. He said that solving the problem of stray cattle is essential for both public safety and the welfare of the cattle. Therefore, the Municipal Council, in collaboration with the Punjab Gau Sewa Commission and the administration, is conducting this campaign with utmost seriousness.
Present on the occasion were Dr. Raj Kumar Sharma, social worker Madam Neeru Tuli, departmental officers, volunteers associated with Gau Sewa, and other dignitaries.
