Fatehabad, July 1:- Under the direction of *Superintendent of Police Smt. Nikita Khattar, IPS*, the anti-drug campaign being run in the district is continuously achieving big successes under the effective supervision of *ASP Smt. Divyanshi Singla*. In this sequence, Fatehabad Police, in two major actions against drug smugglers, *on one hand arrested two inter-state smugglers including a woman with 13 kg 60 grams of opium*, *while on the other hand also got frozen illegal property worth about 30 lakh rupees of a notorious drug smuggler*.
Addressing a press conference, *ASP Smt. Divyanshi Singla* informed that the CIA Ratia team was patrolling and monitoring near Dhangar Bridge on NH-9 to nab drug smugglers. During this, credible information was received that Ishwar Lal son of Mangi Lal Patidar, resident of Barlai, District Neemuch (Madhya Pradesh) and Sona Prajapati wife of Sunil Prajapati, resident of Baijalpur, District Raisen (Madhya Pradesh) were coming with a huge quantity of opium from Madhya Pradesh to supply in Haryana and Punjab.
Taking the information seriously, under the guidance of *ASP Divyanshi Singla*, the *CIA Ratia team* immediately set up a blockade near Dhangar Bridge on NH-9. After some time, as per the details given by the informer, Honda City car number DL-3CBA-2461 was stopped and searched as per rules. During the search, 13 kg 60 grams of opium was recovered from the car, whose estimated market value is about 70 lakh rupees. The police also seized the car used in smuggling and arrested both accused on the spot.
During the action, an important fact also came to light. Stickers of *‘Dainik Sudarshan Today’* were pasted on the front and back of the car used by the accused. In the preliminary investigation, it is suspected that the accused allegedly misused the newspaper stickers with the objective of keeping themselves away from suspicion and to easily pass through during police checking. The police is seriously investigating this entire aspect as to for what purpose these stickers were used and whether any other person or network is involved behind it. If any kind of misuse comes to light in the investigation, strict legal action will be taken as per rules.
*ASP Smt. Divyanshi Singla* said that no matter how many new methods criminals adopt to escape the law, all their efforts will fail in front of the vigilance and effective action of Fatehabad Police. The campaign against drug smugglers will continue with full firmness and any person involved in such crimes will not be spared under any circumstances.
A case has been registered against both accused at Police Station Sadar Fatehabad under Case No. 253 dated 30.06.2026 under Sections 18(B), 27A, 29, 61 and 85 of NDPS Act. In the preliminary investigation, it has also come to light that a case under NDPS Act is already registered against the main accused Ishwar Lal earlier in Bhatinda district of Punjab. The police will take the accused on remand and conduct in-depth interrogation regarding this inter-state drug smuggling network, its suppliers, buyers and other associates.
**Property Made from Drug Money Frozen, Legal Noose**
*ASP Divyanshi Singla* said that under the strategy of breaking the economic backbone of drug smugglers, Police Station City Tohana police got frozen residential property worth *about 30 lakh rupees* earned from illegal earnings of notorious drug smuggler Suresh alias Shesha, resident of Killa Mohalla, Tohana, under Section 68-F of NDPS Act.
She informed that in this case, 7.35 grams of heroin was earlier recovered from accused Lakhbinder Singh. During interrogation, he had admitted in writing that he had purchased this heroin from Suresh alias Shesha. On this basis, Suresh alias Shesha was arrested and 3,000 rupees obtained by selling heroin was also recovered from his possession. During investigation, the property earned from the accused’s illegal earnings was identified and got frozen as per rules.
*ASP Divyanshi Singla* said that Fatehabad Police has so far sent a clear message by freezing illegal properties of 34 drug smugglers that illegal property earned from the drug trade is also not outside the ambit of law. In future also, along with arrests of drug smugglers, similar strict legal action will continue on their illegal properties.
