Karnal, June 13: Police have busted an alleged sex racket operating at a hotel in the Assandh area of ??Karnal, detaining four women and three men. During the operation, items such as the visitor register, a QR scanner, and other materials were seized from the hotel. A case has been registered against the hotel operator, managers, and some customers, and an investigation is underway.
According to reports, the Assandh police were patrolling the Salwan Chowk bypass area on Friday evening when they received information about illegal activities taking place at 'Hotel Luxury' on Jind Road. To verify the information and ensure legal action, the police obtained a search warrant from the DSP (Headquarters), Karnal.
The police sent a man to the hotel posing as a decoy customer. A staff member there demanded ?1,000, which the decoy transferred online. After the payment, he was directed to the first floor of the hotel. Upon receiving a pre-arranged signal, the police team raided the premises.
During the raid, police found two young men at the reception who identified themselves as Manjit Kumar and Rahul. Meanwhile, four women and three men were found in four rooms on the first floor; they were detained for questioning.
The investigation revealed that the hotel had been rented by Rambir, a resident of Rukhi in Gohana. According to the police, hotel employees Manjit Kumar and Rahul used to arrange customers. It is alleged that ?1,000 was charged per customer; half the amount went to the women, while the remainder was distributed among the hotel staff.
During the raid, police recovered a visitor register, a record copy, a scanner, and condoms from the reception counter. The seized items have been taken into custody for further investigation.
DSP Gorakhpal Rana stated that a case has been registered against hotel operator Rambir, managers Rahul and Manjit Kumar, and two customers, Krish and Vishal. The Asandh police have registered a case based on the complaint filed by PSI Sandeep.
Police officials state that efforts will be made to produce the accused in court and secure their remand so that other individuals linked to this network can also be identified. The investigation into the matter is ongoing.
