Hoshiarpur: Senior journalist Daljit Ajnoha held a special meeting with SSP Hoshiarpur Sandeep Malik. During the meeting, SSP Malik shared information about the comprehensive campaign being conducted by the district police against drugs and organized crime.
He stated that this campaign is being conducted under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and the guidance of Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav. This action is part of the state-level anti-drug campaign, which aims to break the drug supply chain and take strict action against gangsters and smugglers.
SSP Malik informed that a special large-scale operation was conducted in Hoshiarpur, during which:
1200 FIRs were registered against gangsters and criminals
Approximately 1,500 drug traffickers and smugglers were arrested
Drug money and assets worth approximately Rs. 30 crore were frozen
Approximately 400 drug addicts were admitted to the de-addiction center in Hoshiarpur and their treatment was started
He further stated that a 72-hour intensive operation is currently underway. Within these 72 hours, 125 arrests have already been made, while about 40 suspects have been rounded up. A large quantity of narcotics was also recovered during this operation.
SSP Malik clearly stated that this campaign will continue and organized crime and gangsters will have to face the law. He reiterated that the district police are fully committed to making Hoshiarpur drug-free.
Senior journalist Daljit Ajnoha appreciated the police action and said that such strict action sends a clear message that law enforcement agencies are fighting a decisive battle against drugs in Punjab.
