Garhshankar, February 22:- The Post Graduate Punjabi Department of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College Mahilpur, which is running under the management of the Sikh Educational Council, is organizing a three-day art festival and book fair dedicated to the glorious history of the hundred years of Babbar Akali Movement from February 26 to 28. In this regard, today, the treasurer of the college's management committee, Virinder Sharma, college principal Dr. Parvinder Singh, convener of the ceremony Dr. J.B. Sekhon, staff secretary Dr. Aarti Sharma, Dr. Dev Kumar and all the staff members released the schedule documents related to this three-day book fair and art festival.
Speaking on the occasion, the Principal of the college, Dr. Parvinder Singh, said that in this three-day festival, there will be a special attraction for the audience of all age groups, including book sales exhibitions of different languages, exhibition of artistic and heritage items, food stalls, drama performances and cultural programs. He said that in the different sessions of this festival, which is being organized in collaboration with Punjab Kala Parishad Chandigarh, Punjabi Sahit Academy Ludhiana and Language Department, Patiala, panel discussions by scholarly writers, book dialogue ceremony, book public dedication, poet darbar and other literary activities will be the center of attention of literature lovers.
He said that in the first session of this festival, famous story writer Waryam Sandhu will participate as the main speaker, while the chief guest of this session will be Malvinder Singh Kang, Member of Lok Sabha. He said that various political leaders, personalities from the socio-cultural and educational fields and famous personalities from the field of literature are participating in this three-day festival of arts.
Convener Dr. JB Sekhon said that in the evening session of the first day of the festival, a play 'Rahan Vich Angyaar Bade Si' will be performed by Rajwinder Samrala and on the last day, a solemn singing performance will be presented by singer Charan along with singer Gurmantar, an old student of the college. On this occasion, Dr. Bimala Jaswal, Prof. Tajinder Singh, Dr. Komal, Dr. Balvir Kaur, Dha Tara Devi, Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Dr. Prabhjot Kaur, Prof. Gurpreet Kaur, Prof. Meenakshi, Prof. Jasdeep Kaur, Prof. Ashok Kumar, Prof. Veena, Prof. Mandeep Kumar etc. were present.
