Chandigarh:- There is a demand for CBI to investigate the scam worth crores in government schemes like Ayushman and HimCare. In this regard, the Joint Action Committee of PGI has written a letter to UT Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria.
The committee says that the Chandigarh Police had registered a case in the scam related to Ayushman and HimCare schemes, while the CBI is investigating the scam of Rs 1.14 crore in the private grant cell. Both these cases are similar and the accused have committed irregularities in these schemes in the same way.
Even the mastermind of both these scams is the same. In such a situation, if both the cases are transferred to the CBI, then it can be investigated in a better manner. The Joint Action Committee says that they had raised these issues, after which these scams were exposed.
The mastermind behind the photocopy shop The main conspirator (mastermind) of both these scams in PGI is the same. Durlabh Kumar Jatav, who ran the photocopy shop in PGI's Gol Market, carried out these scams in collaboration with some PGI employees. The financial assistance given to poor and needy patients in the private grant cell was being transferred to their accounts.
In the second scam, the accused used to illegally obtain medicines given to poor patients under Ayushman and Himcare schemes and then sell them in the market. This work was being done in collaboration with some employees of 'Amrit Pharmacy' in PGI. For this, fake stamps were made in the names of doctors and heads of departments of PGI so that free medicines could be obtained from Amrit Pharmacy.
