Chandigarh, October 31 - Haryana Cooperation, Heritage and Tourism Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma said that the Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel did the historic work of uniting the country in one thread. The aim of Run for Unity is to further strengthen the spirit of unity, integrity and patriotism in the society among the present generation.
Dr. Sharma flagged off the Run for Unity race organized at Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati Stadium in Jhajjar on Friday morning on the occasion of National Unity Day. The race spread the message of unity, integrity and patriotism throughout the city.
In his address on this occasion, Dr. Arvind Sharma said that today we all have come together with the resolve of national unity on the birth anniversary of the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel ji. He said that Sardar Patel, with his willpower, strong leadership and vision, paved the way for the creation of a united nation, uniting India in one thread.
He praised the initiative of celebrating National Unity Day under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and instilling the spirit of unity, discipline, fitness and nation building among the people through Run for Unity.
Dr. Sharma said that Prime Minister Modi ji has taken many historic decisions towards realizing the dream of a united India. In this, removing Article 370 and Act 35C from Jammu and Kashmir has been a historic step in integrating the state with the mainstream. He said that the Statue of Unity installed in Kevadiya, Gujarat is not only the tallest statue in the world but also a symbol of India's unity, power and pride.
Dr. Sharma said that under the leadership of Haryana Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini, Run for Unity is being organized in every district of the state, which is a symbol of active participation of citizens in building the India of Sardar Patel's dreams.
He appealed to the people not to take this run as just a program but to integrate it into their lives as a symbol of unity, harmony and national service. As the run started, the former chief guest administered the oath of national unity to all the participants. During the program, enthusiasm and patriotic fervor were seen among the children and youth.
