Garhshankar:- Sanyukt Kisan Morcha has completely rejected the police story of the killing of 19-year-old Ranjit Singh in an encounter in Gurdaspur district and has demanded an inquiry into this encounter by the sitting judge of the Hon’ble Punjab and Haryana High Court, a murder case should be registered against the guilty police officers and the SSP of Gurdaspur should be suspended.
Issuing a press statement, Sanyukt Kisan Morcha strongly condemned the Bhagwant Singh Mann government of Punjab for giving freedom to the police in the state to oppress the people and said that it appears that the state is not ruled by a democratic government but by the police. The statement said that the way the statements of the Chief Minister of Punjab have changed in this matter are giving a clear indication of how irresponsible his behavior is. If the custodian of the people of the state behaves irresponsibly, then who will stop the police's excesses?
Expressing deep sorrow with the family of Ranjit Singh, the United Kisan Morcha said that it will completely reject the story fabricated by the police regarding the encounter of Ranjit Singh and will provide every support to get justice to the family. The United Kisan Morcha has said that since last year, the police have been repressing the struggles of every section including farmers and the same story is being told in the police encounters.
Suppressing the democratic voice of the people through repression and the police encounters with the same story show that the Aam Aadmi Party government is implementing the BJP's strategy of creating a bulldozer state. The Morcha has appealed to every justice-loving resident of Punjab to raise their voice against this repression.
