Una, January 6:-  The state government has sanctioned an additional amount of Rs. 4 crore to expedite the completion of the remaining works of the under-construction new building of Dr. Simmi Agnihotri Government Degree College in Haroli, Una district. Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri said that this additional budget will accelerate the construction work and provide modern and better educational facilities to the students.
The Deputy Chief Minister informed that the new college building is being constructed at a cost of approximately Rs. 12.71 crore and is currently in its final stages. With the sanctioning of the additional funds, the remaining construction work will be completed in a timely manner, and the building will soon be ready for use by the students.
Mr. Agnihotri said that strengthening infrastructure and academic expansion in the field of education is an important part of the state government's long-term policy, and the continuous development of Haroli College is a direct example of this forward-thinking approach.
It is noteworthy that approximately 90 percent of the construction work of the new college building has been completed, and all academic activities will be conducted in this new building in the coming days.
It is worth mentioning that the state government is continuously working towards strengthening higher education in rural areas. In this regard, seven new courses have been started at Dr. Simmi Agnihotri Government Degree College, Haroli, from the academic session 2025-26, providing better opportunities for higher and professional education to the students of the region.
To promote vocational education, undergraduate level courses such as BBA and BCA, along with postgraduate level courses in M.Com, M.A. English, M.A. Hindi, M.A. Political Science, and M.A. History are being offered at the college. In addition, the college already offers BA and B.Com courses.
