Nawanshahr:- This seminar was presided over by Project Director Mr. Vikas Sharma. On this occasion, Project Director of Red Cross Integrated Rehabilitation Center for Drug Victims Chaman Singh said that a large number of youth in Punjab are getting trapped in the swamp of drugs. To eliminate drugs in Punjab, the government has also opened government hospitals, OAT centers and centers by the Government of India.
So that drugs can be curbed in Punjab. He said that today the youth have started finding solutions to the problems they are facing in their lives through drugs. Due to which they gradually fall into the trap of drugs and later it becomes difficult for them to leave drugs. He said that first of all we should read our history to see how our martyrs and gurus sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country.
Our culture is very rich. We should read the biographies of our martyrs and take guidance from them on how we can face the problems that come in our lives. He said that he told in detail about the diseases caused by drug use. He gave detailed information about HIV to the community members and also told them how to avoid HIV AIDS.
He said that drug addiction makes a person mentally and physically sick. Finally, while sharing information about his center, he said that if any person is addicted to drugs, he can get treatment for a month at the Red Cross Drug Detoxification Center Nawanshahr as per his wish, where the patient is treated in a family atmosphere.
On this occasion, Councilor Kamaljit Kaur, Mandeep Kaur, Parveen Kumar, Daljit Kaur, Satwant Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Babita, community members and patients were present.
