Mohali, August 27: Rayat Bahra University organized ‘Khelo India Dialogue—Khel Ki Baat PM Ke Saath’ program with the aim of promoting sports, fitness and healthy lifestyle among the youth. On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the youth across the country through video conferencing and motivated them to make sports and physical fitness an important part of life.
Prof. (Major) A.S. Chahal, Director, NCC and NSS Coordinator said that this program was organized under the nationwide youth participation initiative ‘Mera Yuva Bharat’ under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. Mohit Kumar Saini, Deputy Director, MY Bharat, Rakesh Sharma, National Volleyball Player Anmol and State Awardee Ananya Bansal were also present on the occasion.
A large number of students from the NCC and NSS units of the university as well as students from Rayat Bahra International School also participated in the program. Students were motivated to make sports and physical activities an integral part of their daily lives.
The speakers said that sports play an important role in the overall personality development of the youth. Qualities like discipline, teamwork, dedication and sportsmanship are developed through sports. Apart from this, sports strengthen physical and mental fitness and also promote leadership, self-confidence and a spirit of healthy competition.
The students were motivated to actively participate in sports activities and contribute to building a fit, healthy and strong India.
