Chandigarh:- Chandigarh received heavy rains in various parts of the state today afternoon. Although the monsoon activity was not visible everywhere in the UT, due to which many areas of the city remained dry. The day started quite hot and humid, but the rains gave temporary relief to the people in some areas.
The maximum temperature of the city was recorded at 35 degrees Celsius, which was 2.9 degrees Celsius lower than Sunday but still 0.6 degrees above normal. The minimum temperature was 27.8 degrees Celsius, which is an increase of 3 degrees compared to the previous night, which shows that despite the rain, the nights remained warm.
The humidity level during the day ranged between 71 percent and 87 percent. The city recorded 9.8 mm of rainfall between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm, while there was no rainfall in the previous 24 hours. The season's total rainfall since June 1 has been 62.4 mm, which is still 72.6 percent less than normal.
