Ambala, October 15 (R. Singh):- The impact of the Punjab shutdown was also visible in Ambala on October 15, called in protest against the murder of drug activist Parvinder Singh Jhota. In the morning, a few Haryana Roadways buses departed for Punjab from the Ambala Cantonment bus stand, but after that, most bus services came to a complete halt. Passengers stranded at the Ambala Cantonment bus stand said they had been waiting for buses for a long time.
They were being told that buses were neither going to Punjab nor arriving from Punjab. The passengers expressed their frustration and said that a shutdown was not the solution to any problem. Ramesh Kumar, who was travelling to Punjab, said he had been standing at the Ambala Cantonment bus stand for the past two hours, but no bus had arrived, causing him considerable inconvenience.
Similarly, a passenger who had arrived from Lucknow said he had been waiting for a bus to Patiala for several hours, but was being told that Punjab was shut down that day and buses were not proceeding further.
