Patiala (Manpreet Singh):- The Gyan Jyoti Education Society, Patiala, organised a tree-planting activity today at Government Middle School Multipurpose to promote environmental conservation.
On the occasion, school in-charge Karamvir Kaur appealed to students to plant two trees on their birthdays, following the slogan “Every Person Should Plant Two Trees,” and to take proper care of them.
Today, Japujee Kaur, a Class VIII student, planted trees. Prabhjot Kaur, Manju Bala, Harpreet Kaur, Ravneet Kaur, Prati, Gurjinder Kaur, Ramesh Ji, Charanpal Singh and Balwinder Kaur also participated in the tree-planting activity.
The society has been planting trees for the past two and a half decades under the leadership of its president, Upkar Singh. Trees planted here seven years ago with the support of Principal Tota Singh have now grown into trees.
