Jalandhar, February 6:- Punjab Press Club, Jalandhar organized a cancer awareness health seminar in collaboration with Fortis Hospital Jalandhar, in which more than 50 media professionals participated.
On this occasion, Punjab Press Club President Jaspreet Singh Saini, Secretary Rajesh Yogi, Joint Secretary Sukrant Safri, Treasurer Shiv Sharma, General Manager Jatinder Pal Singh, Senior Journalist Madan Bhardwaj and Rajesh Sharma welcomed and honored the team of expert doctors of Fortis Hospital Jalandhar. They praised the Fortis team for spreading awareness against a serious disease like cancer.
Fortis Hospital experts said that cancer can be prevented with timely screening and early detection. Cases of breast, cervical, mouth and lung cancer are increasing rapidly in Punjab, the main reason for which is late detection and lack of awareness.
The importance of tobacco prevention, healthy lifestyle, regular check-ups and multidisciplinary treatment was discussed in detail during the session. Experts said that cancer treatment has now become more effective with modern oncology, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, advanced radiation and PET-CT techniques.
