Mohali:- Punjab Mandi Board Chairman S. Harchand Singh Barsat held a crucial meeting with representatives of the Class IV Government Employees Union. During the meeting, the demands and issues of workers engaged under the contract system were deliberated upon in detail. Punjab Mandi Board Secretary Sh. Kumar Amit (IAS), Joint Secretary S. Harjit Singh Sandhu (PCS), and Chief Engineer S. Gurinder Singh Cheema were also present on the occasion.
During the meeting, Union President Darshan Singh Lubana apprised the Mandi Board Chairman in detail about the workers' key demands and urged for their early fulfillment. After listening attentively to the Union's concerns, S. Harchand Singh Barsat issued necessary instructions to the officials present on the spot.
It was decided to constitute a committee at the official level to resolve the demands; this committee will also include two representatives from the Union to ensure coordination with officials and facilitate action towards resolving the issues.
S. Barsat stated that the Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, is striving for the welfare of every section of society and is committed to safeguarding the interests of its employees. The Punjab Government always prioritizes the interests of its employees. He assured the Union representatives that necessary action to resolve their demands would be taken soon. He further affirmed that no difficulties would be allowed to arise in the future and that he would continue to work ceaselessly for the betterment of the employees.
