Hoshiarpur:- Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, during the 'Lok Milni' program held at village Bhattlan in Tanda, Hoshiarpur, stated that Punjab has witnessed many difficult phases over the past several decades, but now the state is moving rapidly toward a new era of development, opportunities, and prosperity. He said that nature has blessed Punjab with fertile land, abundant water resources, favorable weather, and hardworking people, but due to the policies of previous governments, the state could not progress to its full potential.
The Chief Minister asserted that his government is committed to creating employment opportunities for youth, strengthening education and health services, and building a ‘Rangla Punjab’ where no youth is forced to move abroad in search of a better future. He remarked that all of Punjab is his family, and it is his responsibility to ensure employment, quality education, and better health facilities for every citizen.
Speaking on the incidents of sacrilege, the Chief Minister said that the incidents at Bargari, Behbal Kalan, and Kotkapura deeply hurt the sentiments of Punjab and especially the Sikh community. He assured that these cases will be investigated thoroughly, and the culprits will be brought to justice and jailed. He informed that the government has implemented the ‘Jagat Jot Sri Guru Granth Sahib Satkar (Amendment) Act, 2026’, which provides for stringent punishment in sacrilege cases.
Targeting the Akali Dal, the Chief Minister said that it has now remained a party of just one family, and the people of Punjab do not support it. He alleged that the former governments failed to protect the interests of the state and its people.
The CM stated that Punjab was repeatedly affected by the Partition of 1947, the tragedy of 1984, and subsequent years of corruption and looting, but now the progress of the state will not be allowed to halt. He appealed to the youth, stating that the government is creating opportunities within Punjab so that they are not forced to migrate to Canada, America, or other countries.
Providing relief to female employees, the Chief Minister announced that a policy would be implemented to post Group-C and Group-D female employees within a 40-kilometer radius of their homes. He stated that this would benefit thousands of employees, including staff nurses, teachers, and female police personnel.
The Chief Minister also mentioned projects such as undergrounding high-tension power lines, providing daytime electricity to farmers, strengthening the irrigation system, financial assistance to women under the ‘Mawan-Dhiyan Samman Yojana’, and cashless treatment of up to ?10 lakh per family under the ‘Chief Minister Health Scheme’. He concluded that his government is working with full commitment for a bright and prosperous future for Punjab.
