Hoshiarpur:- Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria paid obeisance at Gurdwara Sahib in Hoshiarpur today before launching the anti-drug campaign in the district. He paid obeisance at Gurdwara Panj Pyara Sahib in village Nangal Shaheed and prayed for peace, prosperity and a drug-free society in the state.
Before reaching Hoshiarpur, the Governor was welcomed by the district administration and was briefed about the preparations related to the ongoing anti-drug campaign in the district. The Governor said that joint efforts are very important to free the society from the serious problem of drugs.
He gave a message to the youth to stay away from drugs and adopt a healthy lifestyle. He also said that the goal of a drug-free Punjab cannot be achieved without public participation. It is worth mentioning that on February 23, the Governor will launch the “Walk Against Drugs Padyatra” from the Tehsil Complex of Mukerian and on February 24 from DAV College of Education, Hoshiarpur.
