Hoshiarpur:- Bahujan Samaj Party Punjab President and Central Incharge Chandigarh Doctor Avtar Singh Karimpuri has termed the budget presented by the Government of Punjab in the Legislative Assembly as “directionless” and “anti-people.” In a statement issued here, Doctor Karimpuri said that this budget is merely a juggling of figures, in which there is no concrete policy for the empowerment of Dalits, backward classes and labourers of the state.
While addressing various meetings for the success of the Bahujan Samaj Party “Satta Sambhalo Behram Rally,” Karimpuri said that the announcement made by the government to deposit 1000 and 1500 rupees into the accounts of women until the elections is a betrayal of women, because after the passage of four years this announcement has been made only during the election year under a strategy to capture votes, whereas the government should first present the account of the previous four years. He said that the sons of the mothers of Punjab have been killed through the drug mafia, but the policies and announcements of the Aam Aadmi Government are being made only with the intention and policy of looting, which the Bahujan Samaj Party will not allow to succeed at any cost.
Doctor Karimpuri said that the government has completely ignored the economic and social empowerment of the Bahujan society. For Dalits, the Government of Punjab has claimed on page number 67 of the budget that 35.23 percent of the budget has been allocated, whereas the total amount is 17700 crore rupees. According to 35 percent, the budget should be around 92000 crore rupees. Like the previous budget, once again Dalits have been deceived in the Punjab Government’s budget and about 65000 crore rupees belonging to them has been consumed by the government only on paper. Karimpuri said that the Bahujan Samaj Party will absolutely not tolerate this. The budget allocated for Post Matric Scholarship and welfare schemes is like cumin seeds in the mouth of a camel.
He said that the government is pushing Punjab into a swamp of debt, the worst impact of which is falling on the poor class. In the budget there is no outline for permanent employment for unemployed youth, which is very unfortunate. The government is telling how much chickpeas, turmeric, salt and oil will be given in the budget, but it is silent about how many teachers will be provided in schools. This clearly shows that the government wants to create beggars in the homes of the poor rather than officers. Karimpuri said that the Bahujan Samaj Party invites the people of Punjab to stand with the “Punjab Sambhalo Campaign” of the Bahujan Samaj Party in order to produce officers.
Doctor Karimpuri strongly said that considering the present circumstances, the “Punjab Sambhalo Campaign” launched by the Bahujan Samaj Party has become the need of the time. Now the time has come for the Bahujan society to recognize its strength. We are not only those who ask, but we will move forward in the direction of becoming rulers. Under the slogan “Acquire Power,” the Bahujan Samaj Party will go to every village of Punjab and make people aware.
Karimpuri announced that the party will take the failures of this budget to the court of the people. He said that establishing a government based on the dreams of Baba Sahib Doctor Bhimrao Ambedkar and Shri Kanshi Ram for the real development of Punjab is the main objective of the Bahujan Samaj Party.
