Faridkot, August 16:- Prof. Vandana Dhosiwal, Head of Child Health Nursing at the local University College of Nursing (UCON), functioning under Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, has been honoured for her outstanding departmental services. During a grand function organised here on the occasion of the country’s 80th Independence Day, Deputy Commissioner of the district, Rahul Chaba, IAS, presented a certificate of honour to Prof. Vandana Dhosiwal. MLA from the constituency Gurdit Singh Sekhon and other senior officials were also present on the occasion.
It is noteworthy that Prof. Vandana Dhosiwal is the daughter-in-law of Dalit Ratna Jagdish Rai Dhosiwal, founder of LBCT (Lord Buddha Charitable Trust) and National President of the All India SC/BC/ST Ekta Welfare Manch.
On Prof. Vandana Dhosiwal receiving the honour, Chief Patron of Lord Buddha Charitable Trust Faridkot Heerawati, District Chairman Dr. Harpal Singh, District President DPS Bhola Grewal, Senior Vice President Inspector Ramesh Barolia, Vice President Nirmal Singh Sandhu, General Secretary Prof. Malkiat Singh Mamman, Chief Advisor Shri Krishan R.A. and Press Secretary Shiv Nath Dardi, along with all office-bearers and members, congratulated the Dhosiwal family.
Similarly, retired Joint Controller from the Punjab Finance Department and former SVC of Baba Farid University, Shri O.P. Chaudhary, local thinker and litterateur Prin. Krishan Lal, along with District Sports Wing Chairman Rajinder Das Rinku, also congratulated the Dhosiwal family.
Providing this information here today, District President DPS Bhola Grewal said that the Dhosiwal family had been engaged in social service for a long time and had also been fulfilling its departmental responsibilities with complete sincerity, integrity and dedication. He said that it was in recognition of these outstanding departmental services that Prof. Vandana Dhosiwal had received this prestigious honour.
