Hansi: Under the efficient leadership and guidance of Hansi Superintendent of Police (SP) Vinod Kumar, IPS, the Hansi Police is continuously running an awareness campaign against cyber crimes. As part of this campaign, a cyber awareness program was organized at the Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Hansi.
During the program, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Prem Kumar, posted at the Cyber Police Station, Hansi, provided important information regarding cyber security to the students and staff members. He explained that in the current times, cyber criminals are trapping people through fake calls, social media, online gaming, fraudulent job advertisements, investment scams, and by sending suspicious links.
While raising awareness among the students, ASI Prem Kumar advised them not to share OTPs, bank account details, ATM card numbers, CVV, or any other confidential information with any unknown person. He urged them to avoid clicking on any suspicious links and to use strong passwords for their social media accounts.
During the program, students were also informed about the cyber helpline number 1930 and the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal. They were told that if anyone becomes a victim of cyber fraud, they can try to secure their funds by immediately registering a complaint on 1930.
He appealed to the students to become aware themselves and to educate their families, friends, and other members of society about protecting themselves from cyber crimes. Awareness is the most effective measure to prevent cyber crimes.
At the end of the program, students asked various questions related to cyber security, which were answered in detail to resolve their queries.
