Kapurthala, March 3:- The world-renowned literary organization Sirjana Kendra (Regd.), Kapurthala, organized a special poets’ gathering and book release event at its office Virsa Vihar to mark International Mother Language Day.
The event was presided over by Prof. Kulwant Singh Aujla, Dr. Ram Murti, Kanwar Iqbal Singh (President of the Kendra), Manjit Sohal, Prof. Harjit Singh Ashk, Mangal Singh Bhandal, and novelist Chann Momi.
While inaugurating the event, General Secretary Shahbaz Khan praised the Punjabi mother tongue and stated that the entire Sirjana Kendra takes pride in continuously organizing such programs dedicated to Punjabi and will keep doing so in the future. Poet Kanwar Iqbal Singh welcomed the guests and fellow poets, stating that members associated with the Kendra are always actively engaged in serving Punjabi literature through their creative contributions.
The poets’ gathering featured recitations by Gurdeep Gill, Avtar Singh Gill, Tejbir Singh, Avtar Singh Bhandal, Ashu Kumra, Malkiat Singh Meet, Keval Singh Rattara, Dr. Surinder Pal Singh, Aman Gandhi, Kulwinder Singh Chahal, Sarwan Singh, Janakpreet Begowal, Dr. Harbhajan Singh, Shahbaz Khan, and Surjit Sajan, who enriched the atmosphere with poetic expressions.
After the session, novelist Chann Momi appreciated literary forums and institutions for their efforts in promoting the Punjabi language. National awardee Mangal Singh Bhandal praised the initiative of Sirjana Kendra, stating that the Punjabi language will continue to flourish as long as its devoted sons remain committed to its service. 
Prof. Harjit Singh Ashk emphasized the importance of language, saying that no matter where a Punjabi resides in the world, their love for Punjabi language and literature remains intact. Prof. Kulwant Singh Aujla congratulated everyone on the auspicious day and said that Punjab’s rich heritage, literature, and culture will continue to be carried forward by dedicated writers and readers across generations. 
Poet Manjit Sohal stated that literary organizations have a fundamental responsibility to remain consistently devoted to the service of the mother tongue. Eminent critic and writer Dr. Ram Murti discussed several important aspects related to the Punjabi language and appreciated Sirjana Kendra for organizing such events.
The event coordinators and office bearers Ashu Kumra, Malkiat Meet, Dr. Avtar Singh Bhandal, Dr. Surinder Pal Singh, Avtar Singh Gill, and Principal Keval Singh Rattara noted that the poetic beauty of the program was further enhanced when members of the presidium presented their own compositions.
At the conclusion of the event, the formal release ceremony of Manjit Sohal’s two books “Tuhade Khat” (Letter Collection) and “Tuhade Mutabik” (Poetry Collection), along with Hazara Singh “Mand”’s book “Maut Chon Zindagi” (The Battle of Garhi Chamkaur), was held. 
President Kanwar Iqbal Singh expressed gratitude to all attendees. General Secretary Shahbaz Khan and Assistant Press Secretary Rajni Walia informed that several distinguished personalities and literary enthusiasts were present at the occasion.
