Chandigarh, October 17-So far, payment of Rs 9029.39 crore has been transferred directly to the bank accounts of farmers in Haryana during the Kharif season 2025-26. In this way, the government has ensured payment of MSP to the farmers.
A spokesperson for the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department of Haryana said that the state government is continuing the work of purchasing paddy in all the grain markets of the district keeping in mind the rights of the farmers.
He said that paddy is being purchased by Hafed, warehouses and food supply agencies in the district. Instructions have been given to the concerned departments to ensure that farmers do not face any kind of problem in selling the paddy crop.
Paddy is being purchased from farmers registered on the Meri Fasal Mera Biora portal. So far, paddy has been purchased from 2,52,693 farmers registered on the Meri Fasal Mera Biora portal in the state.
The spokesperson said while giving information here today that a total of 49,94,349 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been purchased in the mandas across the state so far.
He said that 40,22,926 lakh metric tonnes of paddy have been lifted from the mandas of various districts so far. So far, 48,44,073 lakh metric tonnes of paddy have been purchased from the mandas.
It is worth mentioning that the purchase of paddy in the state is done by the Government of India under Minimum Support Scheme and the payment for the crop is directly transferred to the bank accounts of the farmers.
The government is repeatedly appealing to the farmers to dry their crops properly and bring them to the market as per the standards set by the Government of India.
The state procurement institutions have made sound arrangements for the procurement of paddy and the work of lifting the paddy is being expedited. It is worth mentioning that the payment of the MSP fixed by the Government of India for the paddy purchased by the state procurement institutions is directly transferred to the bank accounts of the farmers. The Government of India has not made any reduction in the MSP of 2389 per quintal for paddy.
The spokesperson of the department said that instructions have been given to maintain the facilities like electricity, clean water, toilets etc. in the markets. He has appealed to the farmers to bring their paddy crop to the market after drying it so that the farmers have been instructed to keep inspecting the crop at the right time so that the farmers do not face any problem in selling the paddy crop.
Apart from this, the cleaning work of the paddy brought by the state's mandas and procurement centers is being done by the traders at their own level. Along with this, the payment of the fees and rates of the mandi labor work done at the mandas and procurement centers is also borne by the government.
