Chandigarh, November 11- Payment of Rs 14336.92 crore has been transferred to the bank accounts of farmers in Haryana so far during the Kharif procurement season 2025-26. In this way, the government has ensured payment of minimum support price to the farmers.
A spokesperson of the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department of Haryana said that the state government is continuing the work of procurement of paddy in all the grain markets of the district in a smooth manner, keeping in view the rights of the farmers.
He said that paddy is being procured by Hafed, Warehouse and Food and Supply Agencies in the district. Instructions have been given to the concerned departments to ensure that the farmers do not face any problem in selling the paddy crop.
Paddy is being purchased from farmers registered on Meri Fasal Mera Biora portal. Till now, paddy has been purchased from 2,99,696 lakh farmers registered on Meri Fasal Mera Biora portal in the state.
He said that 60,58,470 metric tonnes of paddy have been lifted from the mandas of various districts till now. Till now, 61,48,624 metric tonnes of paddy have been purchased from the mandas.
The government is repeatedly appealing to the farmer brothers to dry their crop properly and bring it as per the standards set by the Government of India.
The state procurement institutions have made adequate arrangements for the procurement of paddy and the work of lifting paddy is also being expedited. The Government of India has not made any reduction in the minimum price fixed for paddy at Rs 2389 per quintal.
The department spokesperson said that instructions have also been given for electricity, clean drinking water, toilets etc. in the markets. He appealed to the farmers that the farmers should bring their paddy crop to the market only after drying it so that the farmers can get a fair price for the crop at all times. The district administrations have been instructed to keep checking the grain markets of their respective areas from time to time so that the farmers do not face any problem in selling their paddy crop.
Apart from this, the work of cleaning the paddy brought by the farmers in the markets and procurement centers of the state is being done by the brokers at their own level. Along with this, the payment of the mandi labour at the markets and procurement centers is also borne by the government.
