Chandigarh, October 30 - During the Kharif procurement season 2025-26 in Haryana, a payment of Rs 12327.24 crore has been directly transferred to the bank accounts of farmers so far. In this way, the government has ensured payment of minimum support price to the farmers.
A spokesperson of the Haryana Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department said that the state government is continuing the work of purchasing paddy in all the grain markets of the district keeping in view the rights of the farmers.
He said that paddy is being purchased by Hafed, Warehouse and Food and Supply Agencies in the district. Instructions have been given to the concerned departments so that the farmers do not face any problem in selling the paddy crop.
Paddy is being purchased from farmers registered on Meri Fasal Mera Biora portal. Till now, paddy has been purchased from 2.87 farmers registered on Meri Fasal Mera Biora portal in the state.
He said that 53.24 lakh metric tonnes of paddy have been lifted from the mandis of various districts so far. Till now, 57.78 lakh metric tonnes of paddy have been purchased from the mandis.
The government is repeatedly appealing to the farmer brothers to dry their crop properly in the market and bring it as per the norms set by the Government of India.
The state procurement institutions have made sound arrangements for the procurement of paddy and the work of lifting paddy is also being expedited. It is worth mentioning that the payment of the minimum support price fixed by the Government of India for the paddy purchased by the state procurement agencies is directly transferred to the bank accounts of the farmers. There has been no reduction in the minimum support price fixed by the Government of India for paddy of Rs. 2389 per quintal.
The spokesperson of the department said that instructions have been given for the facilities like electricity, clean water, toilets etc. in the mandis. He has appealed to the farmers to bring their paddy crop to the farmer's market after drying it so that the farmers can get the right price for the crop at the right time. The district administrations have been instructed to keep inspecting the grain markets of their respective areas from time to time so that the farmers do not face any problem in selling their paddy crop.
Apart from this, the work of cleaning the paddy brought by the farmers in the state's mandis and procurement centers is being done by the middlemen at their own level. Along with this, the government also pays the tax rates for market labor work such as filling, weighing, sewing, and loading at markets and procurement centers.
