Patiala:- Patiala Social Welfare Society, known for its community service initiatives, observed Environment Day by planting saplings at Hindu Public School. The society believes in planting saplings only at locations where they can be properly cared for and allowed to grow into healthy trees.
Speaking on the occasion, members highlighted the growing threat of global warming and stressed that planting trees alone is not enough—their proper care and maintenance are equally important. They also expressed concern that trees are being cut down in the name of development without adequate replantation. The society appealed to people to plant at least one sapling on occasions such as birthdays, weddings, and anniversaries.
During the event, society member Mr. Munish Gupta donated ?11,000 to the school. Principal Mr. S.K. Khosla assured that the newly planted saplings would be well maintained. The event was attended by Principal S.K. Khosla, Munish Gupta, Ravinder Sabharwal, Society President Vijay Kumar Goyal, and other members.
