Karnal, November 8: Pandit Chiranji Lal Sharma Government College organized a speech competition on Saturday as part of the Drug-Free Haryana Awareness Campaign. All students participated enthusiastically in the speech competition. The event was organized by the Drug Awareness Committee. Dr. Suresh Kumar Duggal, in-charge of the Mass Communication Department, presided over the event. Dinesh Kumar moderated the stage. Dr. Ashish Atal and Dr. Rajeshwar served as judges.
On this occasion, College Principal Dr. Rekha Tyagi gave the message to students to stay away from drugs. She said that Haryana is the land of heroes; neither will we consume drugs nor will we allow others to consume them.
Vice Principal Dr. Jarnail Singh, in his address, said that the young generation should stay away from drugs and pursue education and social service. The Principal appealed to the students to play an active role in building a drug-free India.
Dr. Kanwar Bhan, in-charge of the Drug Awareness Committee, shared his views on how addiction harms us financially and physically and destroys our ability to think and understand.
Sahil took first place in the speech competition, Lakshya second, and Punita third. At the end of the program, college members and students took a pledge to make Haryana drug-free.
