Karnal, November 4: While speaking to reporters in Karnal today, Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) state president Ratanman leveled serious allegations against the government regarding the recent multi-crore rupee paddy scam. He stated that this scam was completely under political patronage, and the involvement of prominent political figures is clearly visible.
Demanding the immediate arrest of the main accused in the scam, Ratanman warned that if the government fails to take action against the real culprits, BKU will launch a massive public movement. A BKU meeting was held at Sir Chhotu Ram Kisan Bhawan on this issue. He stated that this scam is not the fault of any one employee, but a well-planned conspiracy.
The involvement of some BJP leaders is evident. This scam took place under political patronage, and due to the government's failure, the real culprits have not yet been arrested. Ratanman demanded that commission agents, fake farmers, and those involved in the transport business be included in the investigation, so that the truth can be fully revealed and the investigation conducted in a transparent manner.
Action against employees is merely a sham:
State President Ratanman also questioned the recent FIR filed against employees. He said that the government is targeting only small employees, while the real culprits are high-profile political figures. This is merely an attempt to suppress the case and mislead the public.
The government should take action against the real culprits. He said that the complicity of BJP leaders in this scam is clearly visible, but the government is trying to protect them. Unless strict action is taken against BJP leaders, the investigation will remain stuck at a lower level.
FIR called a sham:
Regarding the FIR filed against the Mandi Secretary and other employees in Karnal district, Ratanman said, "This action is merely to attract public attention. The government is protecting the real culprits. This matter will not be resolved until the real culprits are punished."
BKU's tough stance:
The BKU state president stated that farmers are distressed by this scam and the organization will fight at every level to protect their interests. He said, "If the government does not take timely action, BKU will launch a mass movement, forcing the government to arrest the real culprits."
BKU's demand:
Ratanman demanded that the government conduct a high-level investigation into this scam and arrest all political figures involved without coercion. He categorically stated that BKU will not rest until the real culprits are caught and will continue its struggle. On this occasion, many farmers including senior farmer leader Premchand Shahpur, Shyam Singh Mann, spokesperson Surendra Sagwan, secretary Rajkumar Nautana were present.
