Haroli/Una, July 17 (Rajveer Chopra): An orientation program was organized on Friday at Sant Dhangu Wale Gujjar Government College, Beetan, for students newly admitted to the first year of undergraduate (UG) courses. The event commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the college Principal, Dr. Sumiksha Gupta.
In her address, Principal Dr. Sumiksha Gupta welcomed the new students and emphasized that college life plays a crucial role in personality development and shaping one's future. She motivated the students to set clear goals and move forward with discipline, dedication, and hard work.
The keynote speaker for the event was Dr. Uma Rani, a retired professor from the Sanskrit Department. In her inspiring lecture, she urged students to lead a disciplined life, face challenges courageously, and strive continuously towards their goals with a positive mindset.
Senior faculty member Prof. Ritu Jaswal conducted the proceedings and provided detailed information to the students regarding the CSCA, career counseling, and the various activities and schemes operational within the college.
On this occasion, detailed information was provided to the students by Dr. Richa Sharma (Eco Club), Dr. Gurmel Singh (Mid-term examinations), Prof. Gurjit Kaur (Scholarship schemes), Dr. Buta Ram (Rovers and Rangers), Prof. Ramesh (NCC), Prof. Shivendra (National Service Scheme - NSS), Superintendent Grade-1 Virendra Mohan (College rules and administrative procedures), and Librarian Pawan Kumar (Library facilities and rules).
All faculty members, non-teaching staff, and a large number of newly admitted students attended the program. The event concluded with the National Anthem.
