Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Inderpreet Cheema said that the organ donation campaign is being celebrated from November 19th to November 29th.
He said that organ donation is true charity. Thousands of people die every year due to heart failure, kidney or liver failure, or blood deficiency. We can help them by donating organs. If we are willing to donate our healthy organs for the benefit of others, we can save many lives. Organ donation can give the gift of life to many, adding color to many colorless lives.
Organ donation is a noble act that saves thousands of hopeless, precious lives awaiting life, and the timely donation of organs from a brain-dead person can save many dying ones. Any healthy person of any age, caste, race, or gender can donate organs.
Heart, lungs, kidneys, liver, pancreas, corneas, bones, skin, heart valves, intestines, ligaments, and veins can be donated. Organ donation can be done while alive. We can live a healthy life without any physical harm even after donating a kidney, liver, or bone marrow. Therefore, we should all pledge to donate organs.
