Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, January 8:- Today, the Open Gym built at a cost of Rs. 5 lakhs from the District Planning Committee funds in Village Thaska was inaugurated by MLA Mohali S. Kulwant Singh and Engineer Prabhjot Kaur, Chairperson District Planning Committee SAS Nagar.
Speaking on the occasion, S. Kulwant Singh said that the Punjab Government is paying special attention to the development of basic facilities in villages and urban areas as well as increasing awareness about people's health. He said that the Open Gym will prove helpful in adopting a healthy lifestyle for the youth, elderly and people of all sections of the village.
Chairperson Prabhjot Kaur said that the main objective of the District Planning Committee funds is to implement public-interest and grassroots development works. He said that in the future also, priority will be given to projects related to health, sports and infrastructure at the village level.
The village Sarpanch, Panch, dignitaries of the area and a large number of villagers were present during the inauguration ceremony. At the end of the ceremony, the villagers thanked the guests.
