Bangana, June 4: The Department of Industries successfully organized a one-day workshop in Bangana today (Thursday) covering topics such as marketing and digital literacy, digital tools for brand building, and the GeM and CPP portals. This event was conducted under the "Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance" (RAMP) program, which aims to enhance the competitiveness of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), encourage digital transformation, and strengthen their participation in government procurement processes. More than 70 entrepreneurs participated enthusiastically in the workshop.
Actively engaging in various sessions, the participants gained valuable insights regarding marketing strategies, digital literacy, and the utilization of digital tools for brand building. During the event, a special session dedicated to the GeM (Government e-Marketplace) and Central Public Procurement (CPP) portals provided detailed guidance on the registration process, participation in tenders, and opportunities for government procurement.
K.L. Verma, the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Bangana, stated that in the current era, the use of digital tools for marketing, digital literacy, and brand building has become extremely crucial for industries. Through these technologies, industries can enhance their competitive capabilities, boost production, and improve operational efficiency. He noted that with the aid of these modern tools, cottage and small-scale industries can evolve in a phased manner and establish a distinct identity for themselves, much like large-scale industries.
Mr. Verma further added that the GeM portal serves as a vital platform for MSMEs, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), and startups. Through this platform, they gain direct access to verified government buyers, reach markets far beyond local boundaries, and secure government orders through a transparent process—thereby giving fresh momentum to the expansion of their businesses.
Meanwhile, a detailed session on the topics of marketing and digital literacy, as well as digital tools for brand building, was conducted by Pradeep Kumar. He apprised entrepreneurs of the significance of effective marketing strategies in the digital era, explaining how Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) can strengthen their brand identity and gain access to new markets through social media platforms, digital advertising, online presence, customer engagement, and content marketing. Highlighting the role of digital tools in brand building, he emphasized that in today's competitive landscape, success hinges not merely on product quality, but equally on effective presentation and digital visibility.
He also introduced the participants to practical methods for leveraging various digital platforms to promote their products and services, expand their customer base, and propel their businesses to new heights. He specifically urged local entrepreneurs to maximize their utilization of digital mediums and to adapt themselves in alignment with evolving market requirements.
Furthermore, addressing the topic of the GeM and CPP portals, Sarvesh Sharma provided participants with detailed information regarding vendor registration on GeM, catalog management, the bidding process, government procurement policies, and how to capitalize on business opportunities with various government departments. While addressing the participants' queries, he also shared practical tips essential for operating successfully on the GeM portal.
Akshay Singh, Meenakshi Thakur, Ayush Kaushal, and others were present on this occasion.
