Una, July 15: On the second day of the second phase of the special publicity campaign organized by the Department of Information and Public Relations, the 'Purvi Kala Manch' (Jalgran Tabba) presented public awareness programs today (Wednesday) at Jungle Panjawar (in Upper Panjawar Panchayat) and Bhadsali Tholiyan (in Bhadsali Khas Panchayat) within the Haroli subdivision. Through music and street plays, the artists informed villagers about the state government's welfare schemes for Scheduled Castes, public welfare policies, achievements, and the drug-free campaign.
During the program, the artists explained that under the Inter-Caste Marriage Incentive Scheme, the state government provides an incentive of ?50,000 to a couple if a young man or woman from a 'General' (upper) caste marries someone from the Scheduled Caste category. This scheme aims to eradicate social evils like untouchability.
To avail of this, the couple is required to submit documents such as caste certificates, Himachali bonafide certificates, marriage registration certificates, proof of date of birth, copies of ration cards, Aadhaar cards, wedding photographs, and a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the concerned District Welfare Officer.
Additionally, the troupe members informed the audience that under the 'Anuvarti Karyakram Yojana' (Follow-up Program Scheme), the government provides financial assistance to eligible beneficiaries from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes to help them secure a livelihood. Under this same scheme, a subsidy of ?1,800 per sewing machine is provided to women, enabling them to earn an income from home and become self-reliant.
They also provided information to the villagers about the Chief Minister's Sukh Aashray Yojana, Indira Gandhi Sukh Shiksha Yojana, Indira Gandhi Sukh Suraksha Yojana, and Swarn Jayanti Aashray Yojana, alongside other welfare schemes.
Furthermore, placing special emphasis on drug prevention, the artists described drug abuse as a serious social evil and urged people to stay away from drugs and raise awareness about the issue within society. 

**Upcoming Schedule for Public Awareness Campaign**
The Purvi Kala Manch (Jalgraan Tabba) will conduct a public awareness campaign featuring music and street plays to entertain the public while informing them about government schemes launched for the public good. The events are scheduled for July 16 in Batuhi and Lamlehri Upperli (Una); July 17 in Jakhera and Bahdala Lower (Una); and July 18 in Paroiyan Kalan and Pansai.
Local villagers were present on the occasion, including Ranjeet Rana (Pradhan, Panjawar Upper); Sushma Devi (Pradhan, Bhadsali Khas); Karn Singh (Up-Pradhan); and ward members Sarvjit, Anju, Dharmendra Singh, Sonia, Vandana Kumari, and Krishna Devi.
