Chandigarh:- Today, Kamlesh Banarasi Das, former Mayor of Chandigarh, celebrated Constitution Day with members of the Chandigarh Colony Welfare Federation at Ram Darbar. A floral tribute was paid to Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, the architect of the Constitution, and the fundamental spirit of the Constitution was reiterated.
On this occasion, Kamlesh Banarasi Das said, "The Constitution has given us all freedom of speech, freedom of movement, and freedom to do our work. It was through the Constitution that the Congress government established colonies and provided EWS houses. But today, the biggest threat is not only to the Constitution, but also to the residents of the colonies who were settled by Congress governments. For the past 12 years, the BJP government has been deceiving innocent people by showing false documents and promising them sweets to secure votes in the name of granting them ownership rights. For the past four or five days, there have been reports that the people in whose names the houses were allotted had sole rights to them; now their children no longer have them. Now, preparations are underway to snatch away their houses as well." Newspaper reports have revealed that officials are making this policy. These officials and administrators are directly appointed by the Prime Minister and Home Minister, who are working against the people.
Kamlesh Banarasi Das said that this is the time to unite.
"Today we must fight to protect the Constitution, our rights, and our homes. When the Constitution gives us the right to home, dignity, and life, no government can take it away. Fighting together is the only option."
