Ambala, February 21:- Under the auspices of the Indian Knowledge Tradition Study Cell (IKS) and Linguistic Departments of GMN College Ambala Cantonment, a panel discussion was organized on the topic "Indian Knowledge Tradition and Mother Languages". The objective was to discuss seriously the preservation and promotion of Indian Knowledge Tradition and the contemporary relevance of mother languages. Professors, researchers and students from various linguistic departments presented their views on the cultural, educational and intellectual aspects of Indian Knowledge Tradition and the role of mother languages.
Dr. Anish, President of IKS Unit, said in his address that the roots of Indian Knowledge Tradition are in our mother languages. Expression in mother language is essential for true expression of knowledge and original thinking. He motivated the students to take forward the Indian traditional knowledge discourse through study, writing and research in their mother languages.
In his address, College Principal Dr. Rohit Dutt said that mother tongues are not only a medium of communication but also a powerful carrier of our traditions, values ??and intellectual heritage. At the end of the program, a resolution was taken that the language departments of the college will jointly promote the dissemination of Indian knowledge traditions and mother tongues, research and academic activities.
Associate Professors Dr. Kamlesh and Dr. Amit from the English Department, Assistant Professors Dr. Anshu Chaudhary, Dr. Neena and Mrs. Mehak from the Hindi Department were present on the occasion. Associate Professor Dr. Ritu and Head of the Department Rajwinder Kaur from the Punjabi Department; Head of the Sanskrit Department Priyanka Baldia; Assistant Professor Harshita Lamba and Assistant Professor Rajinder Mirwal from the Mass Communication Department were present along with many professors and students.
