Hoshiarpur: As is the annual practice, the District Language Office, Hoshiarpur (under the directives of the Department of Language, Punjab) is organizing district-level competitions for Hindi literary creation and poetry recitation. To participate, the registration form must be filled out, verified by the school head, and submitted—either as a signed hard copy or via e-mail—to the District Language Office, Hoshiarpur, by September 15, 2026. Providing details about these events, Research Officer Dr. Jaswant Rai stated that the Department of Language is organizing these district-level competitions again this year to foster students' interest in the Hindi language, literature, and the creative process. Students up to Class 12 within the district are eligible to participate. Schools may nominate a maximum of two students for each category: poetry, story writing, essay writing, and poetry recitation.
Students securing the first, second, and third positions in each category will be honored with cash prizes of ?1,000, ?750, and ?500 respectively (or sets of books published by the Department of Language) along with certificates. The student securing the first position at the district level will go on to participate in the state-level competition. There is no participation fee for these competitions.
Registration forms received after the deadline will not be accepted. A separate registration form must be submitted for each category.
