Una, 21 April- Under the Nutrition Campaign, awareness camps were organised in Ransari, Galua, Kaliwadi and Haroli-1 under Integrated Child Development Project Una and Haroli. District Program Officer (ICDS) Narendra Kumar said that Nutrition Fortnight is being celebrated in all the Anganwadi centers of the district. During this, people are being made aware about the five principles of Nutrition Campaign - Golden 1000 days, Anemia management, Diarrhea prevention cleanliness, and nutritious diet through camps.
He said that like every year, this year also, various programs are being organised by Women and Child Development at Anganwadi level, supervisor circle level and project level to save the targeted groups from malnutrition, through which detailed information is being given to the targeted groups regarding nutritious diet.
While the cooperation of the people is necessary for the success of the programs, inclusive participation of public representatives, school management committees, government departments, social organizations and all public and private sectors is expected. He told that it is very important to get the health checkup of pregnant women, lactating mothers and newborns done from time to time and it is also necessary to get them vaccinated and immunized on time.
Pregnant women, lactating mothers and newborns should take a balanced nutritious diet, along with iron folic acid tablets, they should take mineral-rich, calcium, iron-rich diet and special attention should be given to malnourished and undernourished children and their health can be improved by consulting a specialist doctor and dietician and giving them proper treatment as well as nutritious food. In the camps, the ceremony of Godhbharai of pregnant women was also done and awareness was created about including more and more nutritious food in the diet.
