Chandigarh:- The Punjabi Lekhak Sabha, Chandigarh, in collaboration with the Punjab Arts Council, organized a special program dedicated to the storytelling genre at the Punjab Kala Bhawan today, chaired by renowned author Colonel Jasbir Bhullar.
Renowned Punjabi storytellers Jatinder Hans, Deepti Babuta, and Tripta K. Singh presented their views by narrating stories.
Welcoming the guests, Manjeet Kaur Meet, Vice President of the Punjabi Lekhak Sabha, said that discussing this serious genre is a matter of pride for society. Moderating the stage, General Secretary Bhupinder Singh Malik said that stories come into existence only by connecting fragments of life. Jatinder Hans read his well-known story, "Takhti," in which he described the lives of spiders in detail. He said that the social fabric enables us to create stories by understanding every aspect.
Tripta K. Singh read her story, "Kavita Kavi Aat Main," in which she candidly addressed the complexities of relationships. She emphasized that words should never anger us.
Deepti Babuta, reading an emotional story, "Wagde Pani," said that the safety of children who migrate abroad for livelihoods is also a major challenge. She also emphasized that a quality story is created by visually presenting events and ideas. Deepak Sharma Chanarthal, President of the Punjabi Writers Association, said that a good story carries us with it.
Speaking as the chief guest, Colonel Jasbir Bhullar said that the world's first story was about love, and the last story will also be about love. He added that we learn to write stories from the past through the present.
Colonel Jasbir Bhullar stated that a story has no additional significance because deviating from the subject matter does not do justice to the story's style. In his vote of thanks, senior vice president of the Sabha, Pal Ajnabee said that story goes with life in every form.
