Hoshiarpur:- With the aim of providing safe, clean, and improved health services to patients during the rainy season, Civil Surgeon Hoshiarpur Dr. Mandeep Kamal directed Senior Medical Officer at Civil Hospital Hoshiarpur, Dr. Navjot Singh, and Senior Medical Officer Dr. Neha Pal to conduct a detailed inspection of all roofs at the Civil Hospital. During the inspection, the hospital’s corridors, toilets, stores, roofs, water tanks, and the overall hospital premises were thoroughly examined.
The officials specifically ensured that high standards of cleanliness are maintained on the hospital roofs, ensuring no waste or debris is accumulated, no water stagnation occurs, and conditions conducive to mosquito breeding are not created. The drainage system, drains, and downspouts were checked to ensure they were not clogged, allowing rainwater to flow out easily.
During the inspection, it was verified that there was no leakage of rainwater from any point, and that there was no dampness or seepage in walls or roofs, so that patients and staff do not face any inconvenience due to the rain. Additionally, it was ensured that floors, ramps, stairs, and other high-traffic areas were free of algae or slippery layers to prevent accidents.
During the inspection, Dr. Navjot and Dr. Neha Pal also examined the outdoor units of Air Conditioners (ACs) and other related equipment installed on the roofs. It was ensured that all AC units and their stands are in safe condition, there is no leakage, there is no obstruction in the drainage of rainwater, and they are not causing water accumulation problems on the roofs.
Furthermore, other items and equipment kept on the roofs were inspected, and the concerned staff was instructed to ensure their proper maintenance and timely repairs.
No stone will be left unturned in ensuring patient safety during the rainy season Dr Mandeep Kamal
