Haryana/Hisar: Shammi Kapoor, President of the Bihar Pradesh Khatri Sabha, stated that today, Sardar Sanjay Singh Khatri—a teacher from Saharghat in Madhubani district who had been serving in the Education Department for the past four years—apprised him of his grievance. He explained that, being a member of the minority Khatri (Punjabi Sikh) community, he was subjected to continuous harassment at the departmental level and was ultimately removed from the school.
Addressing this serious matter, I met today with Sardar Lakhvinder Singh Lakkha, Vice-Chairman of the Bihar State Minorities Commission. Lakkha invited me to the Commission's office, discussed the issue with the Commission's Chairman, Ghulam Rasool Balyawi, and assured that necessary instructions would be issued to the concerned officials.
Vice-Chairman Lakhvinder Singh Lakkha clearly stated that no injustice would be permitted against any individual from the Khatri-Punjabi community in Bihar. He assured that if the matter is not resolved within a week, he would personally take it up with the Honorable Chief Minister and the Education Minister to ensure justice for the aggrieved teacher.
