Hansi:– Two-day exhibition of historical documents and rare photographs was organized on 18th and 19th August in Government Senior Secondary School, Singhwa Ragho by Regional Archives, Hisar Division. The objective of exhibition was to acquaint students and common people with freedom struggle, brave freedom fighters of Haryana and historical heritage of the region.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Zila Parishad Chairman Sonu Data. He said that such exhibitions are an effective medium to connect young generation with their glorious history and sacrifice and martyrdom of freedom fighters. After Hansi becoming the 23rd new district, this first exhibition organized in Singhwa Ragho is a matter of pride for the region.
Assistant Director Anil Kumar said that documents preserved in archives are living heritage of our past. It is responsibility of all of us to take stories of struggle and sacrifice of freedom fighters to new generation. He told that 'Abhilekh Daan Abhiyan' is also being run by department for conservation of historical documents.
In exhibition, struggle and sacrifice of many heroes including freedom movement from 1857 to 1947, Lala Hukam Chand Jain, Munir Beg, Nawab Abdurrahman Khan, Raja Nahar Singh, Rao Tularam were displayed through rare documents and photographs. Special attraction of exhibition was also documents of 1857 Hisar struggle, documents of auctioned villages, role of women in national movement, Bhagat Singh-Rajguru-Sukhdev, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's Hisar visit and rare picture of members of Constituent Assembly on 24th January 1950.
Dr. Umashankar Singh while informing students about importance of history said that history gives us direction to understand present and build better future. Principal of school Rajbala welcomed guests, students and parents.
More than 200 students, parents and villagers viewed exhibition. Students showed special interest in rare documents and photographs and resolved to take inspiration from life of freedom fighters.
