Chandigarh:- Former Punjab Congress president and former cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu's wife Dr. Navjot Kaur Sidhu announced after joining the Indian Nationalist Party that Navjot Singh Sidhu has nothing to do with this party.
Dr. Navjot Kaur Sidhu, while talking to reporters at the Chandigarh Press Club, said that Navjot Singh Sidhu is not currently with any political party. He is busy with his show while staying away from politics.
She said that since 2022, no Congress leader has contacted Sidhu nor has he contacted anyone. However, Navjot Sidhu has not said anything about his political life. His X account still has the picture of Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi. Dr. Sidhu said that his Indian Nationalist Party candidates will be fielded in all 117 seats in the state.
He said that after coming to power in the year 2027, work will be done in the public interest. For this, a large number of NRIs are supporting him. Dr. Sidhu, while advocating opium cultivation in Punjab, said that farmers should be given permission to cultivate opium. This will help to wean the youth from synthetic drugs and since opium is widely used in medicines, the income of farmers will also increase.
He said that Ayurveda will be promoted in Punjab. Therefore, farmers will be encouraged to plant turmeric, neem, mulberry and other types of plants in addition to wheat and paddy. The purchase of these plants will be done by the state government. He said that rewards will be given to the youth who provide information about those violating traffic rules in the state. This will enable people to strictly follow the rules.
Dr Navjot Kaur Sidhu said that the Indian Nationalist Party will identify good people from all 117 assembly constituencies of Punjab and field them. She said that files of 37 corrupt and tainted politicians of Punjab have been prepared, which will be exposed soon. This includes the names of 17 other Congressmen including Amarinder Singh Raja Warring. Dr Navjot Kaur Sidhu praised Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi and said that Priyanka Gandhi is like her sister but she has never heard about the bad deeds of Punjab leaders. She said that she had asked Rahul Gandhi for time many times but she was not given time. Dr Sidhu, in response to a question about Raghav Chadha, said that he is a good person who has raised many important issues.
