Chandigarh, September 29:- The Ministry of Power, Government of India, is organizing the ‘National Painting Competition on Energy Conservation - 2026’ with the message “Paint the Future with Your Imagination”. Organized with the objective of spreading awareness about energy conservation among school children, the competition has been divided into two groups.
A government spokesperson, while providing information in this regard, said that students of Classes 5, 6 and 7 can participate under ‘Group A’, while students of Classes 8, 9 and 10 can participate under ‘Group B’. The main painting themes prescribed for both groups are “Save Energy at School and Home” and “Energy Conservation is the Key to Energy Security”. Under the competition, attractive cash prizes and medals will be given to the winners of both groups at the State/Union Territory level and the National level.
The spokesperson said that in the State-level competition, the first prize winner in each category will be given ₹50,000 and a gold medal, the second prize winner ₹30,000 and a silver medal, the third prize winner ₹20,000 and a bronze medal, while 10 consolation prize winners will be given ₹7,500 each. At the national level, the first-place winner will receive ₹1,00,000, a laptop and a gold medal; the second-place winner will receive ₹50,000, a laptop and a silver medal; the third-place winner will receive ₹30,000, a laptop and a bronze medal; and 10 consolation prize winners will be given ₹15,000 each along with a tablet.
In addition, national winners will also get an opportunity to undertake a Study Tour in India. The last date for submission of paintings for participation in the competition has been fixed as October 15, 2026. Students from Punjab, Haryana and the Union Territory of Chandigarh can send their paintings by post or submit them by hand at the address of the Nodal Officer: Er.
