Fatehabad, February 4:  Employees of the Fatehabad Municipal Council will go on a complete strike on February 12 over demands including implementing the Supreme Court's decision to regularize temporary employees, payment of 6 percent arrears of outstanding salaries, and other issues. A meeting of the Municipal Employees Union, Fatehabad block executive committee, was held under the chairmanship of President Naresh Rana regarding this nationwide strike. The meeting was conducted by Secretary Omprakash Lot. Two teams were formed under the leadership of Naresh Rana to organize the strike. Both teams met with employees on a shift-by-shift basis and urged them to participate actively in the strike.
Addressing the meeting, Naresh Rana and Om Prakash Lot said that due to the economic and liberalization policies of the central and state governments, inflation, unemployment, and corruption are continuously increasing. The central government has recently intensified its campaign to hand over all departments to private hands under the recently launched Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (Prime Minister Developed India Employment Scheme), which the employee class will not tolerate at all.
In true sense, the country can only be developed by strengthening public departments. They said that during the strike, demands will be raised including the withdrawal of the 4 labor codes, providing an interim relief of Rs. 5,000 to all employees according to inflation until the 8th Pay Commission is implemented, resolving the anomalies of the 7th Pay Commission before the 8th Pay Commission, canceling the arbitrary amendments made to labor laws, reinstating all laid-off employees, bringing all employees working under the contract system onto the departmental payroll and formulating a regularization policy, regularizing all types of temporary employees, granting employee status to project personnel, and restoring the old pension scheme.
The meeting was also addressed by employee leaders Begraj, State Senior Vice President of the union Ramesh Toshamad, State Press Secretary Vijay Dhaka, and Treasurer Veeru Ratti. On this occasion, Fatehabad block's Deputy Chairman Amit Gill, Senior Vice Chairman Satyawan Talk, Raja Ram Chauhan, Pawan Chinalia, Satpal Parihar, and a large number of employees were present.
