Mohali:- The Mukham Mantri Sehat Bima Yojana, providing free treatment up to Rs 10 lakh for every section of Punjab, was launched today in the auditorium of Vikas Bhawan, the headquarters of the Panchayat Department of Phase VIII, Mohali. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Aam Aadmi Party supremo Arvind Kejriwal launched the scheme by distributing cards to the beneficiaries of the scheme.
On this occasion, Aam Aadmi Party leaders Manish Sisodia, Satyendra Jain, Punjab Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, Cabinet Minister Aman Arora along with a large number of party MLAs and other leaders, besides party workers, were present.
Addressing the gathering on this occasion, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Arvind Kejriwal said that 65 lakh families of Punjab will get the benefit of this scheme under which three crore residents of the state will be able to get their treatment free of cost in any private and government hospital of Punjab without any money. They said that the registration for this scheme has started from today and as soon as the registration is completed, any person will be able to get its benefit.
They said that there are about 2500 packages of various diseases in this scheme and 95 percent of the hospitals of the state have been listed for the scheme. They said that the payment of the treatment done to the hospitals within 15 days will be ensured by the United Insurance Company. They said that the scheme will be available for all types of treatment apart from heart, kidney, knee replacement, mother and child.
On this occasion, both the leaders also enumerated the achievements of the Punjab government in the last four years and claimed to have done more work in the field of health and education than in the last 75 years in four years.
Both of them also assured to take Punjab further in terms of health, education and to free it from drugs and gangsters. On this occasion, Satyendra Jain, Dr. Balbir Singh and Saiyam Agarwal also addressed. On this occasion, Bhagwant Mann and Arvind Kejriwal also targeted the Akali Dal, Congress and BJP.
