Hoshiarpur: Following the instructions of the Election Commission of India and under the leadership of District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain, a monthly inspection of the EVM warehouse established at the district level was conducted today without opening the machines, for the month of January 2026. Assistant Commissioner Paramjit Singh was specially present on this occasion.
As part of the inspection process, all relevant records, logbooks, and entry registers were also examined to ensure transparency.
Assistant Commissioner Paramjit Singh said that the monthly inspection of the EVM warehouse is a regular and essential process. Its purpose is to maintain the fairness, security, and transparency of the electoral process. He expressed satisfaction that the warehouse arrangements in the district were found to be in accordance with the highest standards.
Representatives of political parties present on the occasion said that this initiative of the Election Commission strengthens the public's trust in the democratic process and helps in dispelling misconceptions about the impartiality of the machines.
Those present on the occasion included Rajneesh Tandon from the Indian National Congress, Bhushan Kumar Sharma from the BJP, Jai Ram from the Aam Aadmi Party, Jagtar Singh from the Shiromani Akali Dal, along with Assistant Nodal Officers EVMs Jaspal Singh and Rupinder Pal Singh, Tehsildar Elections Harminder Singh, and Election Kanungo Deepak Kumar and Lakhveer Singh.
