Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, October 31: Mohali MLA Kulwant Singh today said that the Aam Aadmi Party government had promised to fulfill the hopes and expectations of the people, under the same link, the aim of the state's S. Bhagwant Singh Mann government is to bring about balanced development of every part of the state. He said that development projects are being brought to the ground level so that people can get basic facilities on time.
MLA Kulwant Singh was attending a function organized under the leadership of Councilor Ramanpreet Kaur Kumbhara at village Kumbhara today, where he laid the foundation stone of a community center to be built on one acre of land at a cost of Rs 2.50 crore.
On this occasion, he said that the Mohali Municipal Corporation elections will also be held on time in February-March 2026 like other local government elections in the state. He said that the process of warding is being completed afresh and the government has prepared a complete program in this regard.
The MLA said that he has always been raising the rising demand of the people of village Balongi, Baramjra and TDI area to join Mohali Corporation at a high level. He said that in a democracy, everyone has the right to express their views. He said that those who have been lobbying Balongi residents for the inclusion in the city for the last 20 years should talk to them. These people have cheated the residents of Balongi and even in the past, ward distribution was done in such a way that each ward was moved for three to four kilometers, but now the wards will be made in such a way that people do not have to go beyond a distance of 500 to 700 meters to reach their elected representative.
He said that the new community center will become the center of social and cultural life of village Kumbha. This center will be ready within a year, which will include a 97 ft × 178 ft hall, kitchen, toilet, veranda, washing and storage area.
On this occasion, Councilor Ramanpreet Kaur Kumbha thanked MLA Kulwant Singh and said that he has always given priority to the demands of the residents. She said that this community center will prove to be a unique and exemplary project for the people of the area.
